As you well know, nutrition is a huge part of not only staying healthy, but losing weight. What you eat and what you put into your body has a huge impact on your health. Eating foods and/or feeding your children foods that are full of additives, preservatives, sugar, artificial sweeteners, saturated fats and artificial coloring’s can lead to a range of health problems such as obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, depression, hyperactivity in children, tumors and even cancer. In this post I am going include a download that lists the harmful additives and ingredients you need to avoid and look out for when purchasing food for you or your family.
The download includes a list of the most dangerous food additives, coloring’s preservatives and artificial sweeteners that can be found in the foods you are eating, including the code numbers and the names of the additives that should be avoided in your diet. These chemicals that are found in our foods are known to be linked to hyperactivity, ADD, behavioral problems, autism, learning disabilities, cancer, hormonal problems, reproductive damage, immune system diseases, cardiovascular disease, headaches, anemia, nasal congestion and many other health problems that are plaguing our society today.
When you are shopping for yourself of your family ALWAYS check the ‘INGREDIENTS’ section of the foods you are buying as this is where the food additives are listed. In some cases the additive may only be listed by the number, not the name of the actual additive, so it is important that you know and can recognise the number and the name of the additive so you can make healthy food choices.
These additives can be found in breakfast cereals, lollies, bread, soda, cakes, processed bars, microwave meals, protein bars, desserts, jams, snack foods, soup, ice cream, yoghurt, jelly, biscuits, condiments, dairy products and many other packaged foods.
Reactions or allergies to certain food additives can occur hours, even days after the food is consumed making it difficult for people to notice a connection. The best way to avoid these additives in your diet is to eat clean, unprocessed foods in their natural form (lean meats, chicken, fruits, vegetables, natural wholegrain, eggs, nuts and legumes).
London Study on Children and Additives

All of these colors are also linked to cancer and asthma.
